We spent Sunday night at Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake getting stitches for Tessie.
She is one accident prone kid! She hit her face on a kid sized metal shopping cart while we were at Phil and Jill's last night, so luckily we were really close to the hospital. Only took us about 10 minutes to drive there.
Before the stitches they hooked her up to some machines and gave her a "calming" drug that made her giggly and laughing. They also numbed her with some gel stuff. We watched the movie Up in the waiting room while the doctors were prepping for the stitches.
We were so lucky there wasn't any wait at all, they just took us right back and starting getting us going. By the time we left the hospital we were only there for about 2 hours!
Getting wrapped up like a burrito so Tess won't be able to move during the stitches. She was laughing the whole time and sticking her feet in the air.
Here's the doctor doing the stitches. She was really nice and kept talking to Tess and asking her questions.
Tess got four stitches total. One underneath and three on top of the skin.
Our doctor reminded us of Jana Ferrin! Kind of fun!
Tess was a really good little patient. When the "funny" drugs wore off she started screaming a lot, but calmed down on the drive home and fell asleep. The doctors said that hopefully the scarring will be minimal. On Friday we're going back up to Primary's to have them take the stitches out. After that all we can do is put on sunscreen 3 times a day for the next year and hope that will help minimize the appearance of bleaching of the scar tissue.
While we were at the hospital Ava stayed home and snuggled in bed with Jill while they watched Enchanted. We're so thankful we didn't have to take Ava with us to the hospital!

just like Keaton! so the sunscreen thing.... doesn't work that well. It's all about the stich! you don't notice keatons, I doubt you will notice her's, but it will be red after the stiches come out. just warning you! Poor tessie, just one of many to add to her file up at Primary Children's! So sorry!
