Soccer

We got Ava in a neighborhood soccer league and today was the first day. Ava got a new green soccer ball and pink shin guards. We took a few pictures this morning while we were waiting for the team to arrive.

Tess played at the park while Luke took pictures of Ava. Instead of helping her climb on the equipment he took pictures as she fell. (She was fine though.) See the following sequence below:

Luke is an assistant coach, helping with practice before the game and substitutions during the game.

Ava played really well and was assertive in trying to get the ball.

Here she used her body to box out the blue team! Way to go!

Ava almost scored a goal. The ball hit the cone and bounced out. She was sad about that but we cheered her on anyway. In the end her team lost 1 - 0. This picture is her walking back to me after the game.

I took most of the action pictures which is why they're a bit out of focus. Ava has 5 more weeks of soccer to go, so we'll be posting more pictures again soon!

A Week in My Homeland

This is the Southern Alberta that I remember: big skies and big fields. We had a wonderful trip up to Canada this past week and here are some of the pictures. Luke may have some duplicates on his blog.

We enjoyed staying up late and playing Ticket to Ride together.

Brian attended the Cardston Temple and we were there too! It was such a nice day spending time together in the temple.

All in all I really love Canada and I do miss it, but one thing I remembered that I don't miss is all the driving! Nothing is close by and there's always so much driving! It takes about 2.5 hours to get to the Temple. And it's about and 1 and 10 minutes to get to my Grandma Anderson's house. I would love to move back up if everything was closer. I can barely stand to have to drive more than 30 minutes to anything! I guess I'm just spoiled though!

Brian at the MTC

This is a picture of my brother Brian that Luke took on Wednesday morning before we took him into the MTC (Missionary Training Center). He's got on his new suit, my Grandpa Anderson's tie, and a new missionary pin we bought at the BYU bookstore.

We all said goodbye and Brian's friend Emily took a few pictures of us.

This is at the intersection walking over to the MTC sign to take pictures. I just thought it was a funny picture.

I liked the way this "old fashioned" picture looked. Kind of reminded me of a picture of Dad or something.
