Breakfast With the Witches

We have a tradition each year to go to Gardner Village and have breakfast with the witches. The girls really look forward to it every year!

They all wore their witch hats this year!

Costumes!

Ava and Tess got to dress up for dance class on Tuesday and they were so excited! They really wanted make-up on so I agreed. They got red lipstick, pink blush, and a little mascara.

So fun!

If Luke was home the pictures would have been much better quality, but I just had to snap a few quick.

Ava's Arches Pictures

Ava is becoming a great photographer and I'm so proud of her! Last week while I was visiting my sister in Maryland, Luke took Ava and Tess down to Arches National Park. They braved the cold nights camping in a tent and Ava even hiked to Delicate Arch, which is quite a distance for a 5 year old! These pictures were some of the best that she took from that hike.

Capri Sun

Tess loves Capri Sun. Luke made her clean her room the other day and especially clean out from under her bed. This is what she found: almost more empty Capri Sun juice bags than she can carry to the garbage. I love her little face! She lives off of juice, which also reminds me of my sister Kristy, because when she was a little girl she practically lived off of juice and popsicles.

Charity

I've been reading the new history of Relief Society book Daughters in My Kingdom and I think it's really great. I found an eye-opening quote about charity that taught me something new. (page 100)

"Charity is having patience with someone who has let us down. It is resisting the impulse to become offended easily. It is accepting weaknesses and shortcomings. It is accepting people as they truly are. It is looking beyond physical appearances to attributes that will not dim through time. It is resisting the impulse to categorize others. There is a serious need for the charity that gives attention to those who are unnoticed, hope to those who are discouraged, aid to those who are afflicted."

So I thought I'd share this little uplifting quote about charity, thinking how I can do better to develop charity as one of my attributes. I always thought of charity as giving physical help and assistance to others, but really charity is more of a feeling towards others and how we treat others.
