Oath Ceremony
I just got my letter today telling me when I take the oath and become an American. It's Wednesday, March 16th at the Rose Wagner Theater. The ceremony takes place at 10:00 am but I have to report and check in at 9:00 am. The info I have says the theater holds 500 people and a typical ceremony swears in 200. Friends and family are definitely welcome to attend, but once all the seats in the theater are taken then any additional spectators will have to watch on TV moniters in a downstairs viewing area. The oath ceremony lasts about 45 minutes. I'm so excited!

Last night for Valentines Day Luke and I watched the movie Casablanca. It was the first time either of us had ever seen it and we didn't really know anything about the story or what to expect. It's an old black and white, obviously, which I usually like, so I figured why not give it a shot. And it turned out that I loved it! It was shot in 1942 during WWII and its about WWII. The story is about love, duty, and standing up for what's right. I loved it! They don't make em like this anymore! I'd totally recommend it! And besides, there are tons of famous lines and its nice to know where they came from. If you've seen What's Up Doc then you know what I'm talking about.

Learning About Safety
Ava has been learning about the Fire Department and the Police Department this week in preschool. She's really interested in fires. It must be from her first hand experience with fire fighters this past summer. Hah! She says she wants to be a fire-fighter when she grows up.

Ava as a police woman with her badge and hat. Very official looking.

Sleeping

Kids always find the funniest places to fall asleep! This is Tess going to bed one night recently. She always turns the light on in her room and reads books and plays with toys. Eventually though she falls asleep. Usually she's in her bed, but we found her in the plastic tub with her stuffed animals this night.
