Tracy Aviary

The day before Thanksgiving we took the girls downtown to the Tracy Aviary in Liberty Park. Every Wednesday from November through February, the Aviary offers admission for only $1! It's an awesome deal and we really enjoyed our visit. The weather was perfect and the fall leaves were gorgeous! It was a great pre-thanksgiving day treat and we got some exercise walking the paths through the park too.

The girls found lots of leaves that they loved, especially some really big ones.

Most of the birds are outside except the more tropical birds which are kept inside this building. The girls loved the Toucan most of all.

Outside we saw some pink flamingos.

The peacocks were out and roaming free. They didn't seem too afraid of people, they just kind of walked around.

We got to see people feeding fish to the pelicans. Sometimes they fought over the fish and that was interesting. Overall, we had a great time there!

Into the Woods

Luke's been busy again shooting another musical. This was Skyline High School's production of Into the Woods. So I used the same format as the Annie poster and made this one for Skyline.

I've actually never seen Into the Woods but it sounds like a lot of fun; like a dark comedy about fairy tales, set to fabulous music!

These pictures are some Luke snapped recently for one of his school projects entitled Generations. You'll see more of it later, and if you're interested, the project will be on display in the BYU Museum of Art sometime in December. I'll keep you updated with dates and times!

Annie the Musical

About a month ago Luke shot Olympus High School's musical Annie, and then he had me put together a poster for them. I actually put together two posters, just to give the students some choice in the featured photos. Here's what they look like.

Oh Canada!

It's official! My girls are Canadian Citizens! I kept putting off applying for them because I thought it would be really expensive and a big headache. Turns out it wasn't that difficult. A little bit of paper work, some photocopies, a picture and $75. Compared to how much effort it took for me to become American, this was a snap! Here are their official Citizenship Certificates. It's basically equivalent to a birth certificate.

I whited out some of the information on the cards, just to be safe. This is the internet after all.
Now my girls have bragging rights about being a dual citizen. Even though the U.S. will only recognize them as Americans, Canada considers them dual citizens!

Trick or Treating

This year Ava and I both dressed up as witches and Tessie dressed up as a mermaid. We asked her if she wanted to be a witch too, but she didn't, she preferred the mermaid costume.
As a last minute purchase I decided to get some pink hairspray at walmart today. Only $2 and it was the highlight of Ava's Halloween this year! She wanted the pink to stay in her hair forever. But I told her it was only for Halloween night. We washed it out in the tub after trick or treating.
Luke actually took the girls trick or treating this year in our neighborhood and I stayed home and passed out candy. It was a great night for me. While I wasn't passing out candy I cleaned the house and read a book!
We put some pink spray in Tessie's hair too. She didn't want as much as Ava did though.

This house was really decorated well. I love the cobwebs!

While trick 0r treating the girls met up with some of their best friends!
