Happy Easter

This is our family "Easter" picture this year, since Easter Sunday will be during Conference, we most likely will not be dressing up. We're a week early, but we celebrated wearing our Easter dresses today.

The girls posed for pictures this morning, which is really unusual, but lots of fun! This one is all we got out of Tess though.

Ava jumped into the air for this picture. It almost looks like she's going to do a back flip. She does love gymnastics though so you never know.

After jumping Ava began dancing. Here are some pictures that represent her dancing skills!

Ava's Friend

Ava has an imaginary friend named Tarin. If you've seen Disney's The Black Cauldron then you know that Tarin is the main character who saves the day. Ava talks to Tarin and plays with him all day long! She tells me that Tarin is her brother. We all had imaginary friends when we were kids right? Hopefully nothing to be alarmed by...she just has an imagination!

Double Exposure

I was playing around with double exposure this afternoon in photoshop and created this image from two of Luke's Florida pictures. If I do any more I'll post them here too.

Luke made it home safely from Miami and we're glad to have him back. The girls and I made a welcome home sign for him and we bought some helium balloons too for a fun surprise.

Ava Photographer

More pictures taken by Ava this afternoon. The pictures are quite grainy but you get the idea.
I think she'd do well with a better camera....maybe in a few more years!

Easter House

My Mom gave us this "Easter House" to put together. Kind of like a gingerbread house, but it's made out of foam. Ava loved constructing it this morning, especially putting on all the sparkly stickers. Tess participated by constantly trying to knock it down and scattering all the pieces everywhere. Fun times! We're looking forward to Easter next month!

After I took some pictures of the Easter House, Ava really wanted to take some pictures too. Here's one of me and Tess that I thought turned out pretty well, especially for being taken by a 3-year-old. I changed it to black and white to show the high contrast. The reason it looks this way is because the flash went off and her finger was blocking part of it. That's why Tess is bright and I'm only half lit up. I think it's pretty neat and I can't wait for Luke to see Ava's budding photography talent!

Luke in Miami

Luke's in Miami this week on a school sponsored photography field study. The girls and I miss him a lot, but he did send us a message from the beach.

If the pictures too small and you can't read it, it says: Hi Jen Ava & Tess! I love you!

Farm Country at Thanksgiving Point

We went to the farm today with our friends Elle and Liam. Elle and Ava rode on the ponies and loved it! I tried to put Tess on a pony but she screamed and clung to me. She loved looking at the ponies though, just didn't want to ride. We also fed the goats some special kernals we bought for 25 cents. The goats licked up the snack right out of our hands. The girls loved it! It wasn't particularily warm today, but we braved the wind and had fun!

The first half of the pictures, the good pictures, were taken by Stephanie Webb who is a great photographer. It's her kids that were there at the farm with us. Thanks for the great pix Steph!

Today I read Ava the book Green Eggs and Ham for the first time. She seemed pretty concerned about how much the guy didn't like green eggs and ham. About halfway through the story she leaned in and whispered in my ear, "I think he likes salad."
