Ava and Mr. Fox

This is Dr. Suess's Fox in Sox. We borrowed the book from the library and read it, then Ava found Mr. Fox in her closet and hasn't let him out of her sight since. We even had to take him grocery shopping yesterday.

Date Night

On Friday night Luke and I went downtown to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir Christmas Concert. It was absolutely wonderful and we didn't want it to end. The Choir invited Natalie Cole and their guest performer this year and her songs were mesmerizing. I especially liked her version of The Holly and the Ivy. It was quiet and peaceful, accompanied only by an acoustic guitar. After Natalie Cole sang Hark! The Herald Angels Sing, President Monson immediately stood up and gave her a standing ovation. Soon we all joined in standing and clapping. Lots of the apostles were there and we were sitting close enough to see them all. We saw President Uchtdorf and his wife, along with Elder Bednar and his wife, and Elder Hales and his wife. Also, another well known name was sitting on the front row accompanied by his wife: Mitt Romney! We were sitting two sections to the right of center about 4 rows back. Anyway, the performance was wonderful and the Christmas spirit was bright. It was a great date night, and afterwards we went to Hatch Family Chocolates for a cup of delicious homemade hot cocoa. It was very cold outside but we strolled through the lights on temple square anyway and had a great time!

Luke's Letters

Luke is doing a little something with photos he's taken of letters. Here's an example of my maiden name SHAW. We've got a framed picture in our home spelling our last name HANSEN and I love it! Makes a great and unique gift too. Go to Luke's blog to check it out: plukehansen.blogspot.com.
