My New Baby Niece!

Kristy and Justin had their baby girl early this morning and here's some of the first pictures. Baby June was born September 26, 2011 at 1:42 am weighing 7 pounds 2 ounces and measuring 19.5 inches. And I love her already!

Utah Healing Field

In honor of the 10th anniversary of September 11th, Sandy City hosted the Utah Healing Field where there is a flag represented for every person who lost their life. Walking through the flags and reading the names was a very meaningful way to celebrate our freedom and remember the patriotism that united us all.

Another Painting Project

Here is my latest project. I didn't take any "before" pictures so all I have are these "after" pictures. The dresser was found at a yard sale for $5 and was painted white and gold in a horrible sponge painting technique. All the hardware on the dresser is original. The mirror was a dark brown wood mirror that my Mom gave me. She didn't need it anymore and I decided to paint it grey, since it matches my bedspread better.
Before we had this furniture in our room I had my sister's old white dresser and mirror that she had as a little kid. It was definitely time for a change.

Brian's Missionary Service

Brian emailed this picture yesterday from Japan. Ever since the tsunami they do service at least one day a week. This is some of the devastation that is still there. Isn't the snoopy so sad looking? We may have had a hurricane on the east coast last week, but the Japanese people certainly suffered much more. It's a good reminder for me to be thankful.

Before and After

We got this dresser from Luke's cousin Mandi and I decided to paint it and put it in the girls bedroom. I took Ava and Tess to the paint store and I let them pick the color. Below is the before and after pictures:

The color they picked is called Peacock Blue. And I spray painted the hardware white. This is my first furniture paint job and I think it turned out pretty fun! Perfect for the girls bedroom!

Kindergarten!

These pictures are from Ava's "meet the teacher" day. Her teacher's name is Mrs. Belnap, which is funny because Luke's kindergarten teacher's name was also Mrs. Belnap! And Grandma Jill's too! Anyway, Ava starts Kindergarten officially on Tuesday. I'll probably take more picture then, but just in case I miss it, then at least I've got these!
