Trip to Canada

The trip to Canada was one to remember.  The first few days were awesome, but by Sunday night everyone started getting really sick and it pretty much hit us all at some point.  It was one of those stomach flu sicknesses where you spend lots of time in the bathroom.  :(

My girls got the sickness on the ride home from Canada.  Six people in a van for 14 hours with a throw-up bucket.  We had to empty it 7 times! Good thing we had it though or we would never have made it home!

Waiting at the Medicine Hat Airport for Brian to come home from Japan.  The airport there is the smallest little place I've ever seen.  Seriously, so tiny!
This was Brian's plane he flew in on.  He had a flight from Sendai to Tokyo, Tokyo to Calgary, and Calgary to Medicine Hat.

He was the last one off the plane, of course.

And these pictures are just a random assortment from sunday after church when Brian spoke in sacrament meeting.  I took a few from Kristy's blog, so you can find the rest there. :)

Kindergarten Graduation

We were so lucky to attend Ava's Kindergarten Graduation this morning.  It was so much fun to see the program they had prepared, I was very impressed.

Ava was one of nine children who had a speaking part.  I was so excited that she got to participate in that way.
Ava said, "our minds have grown so strong."

Ava with her teacher Mrs. Belnap.

There were three classes graduating this morning, approximately 75 kids.  (There are 7 kindergarten classes total, so thankfully they split them up into separate graduations, otherwise that would have taken a long time!)

In her classroom after the graduation.  We had some treats then went home.

My mom came too and that was fun to have her there.

Random Pictures from the Weekend

Luke's been taking tons of pictures with his new iphone.  These are some examples of some random shots from this weekend.  Ava crashed on her scooter saturday and scraped her knee, elbow, and face. Luckily she was wearing her helmet.  I took her into the bath to clean her up and she was crying in the tub asking for her daddy.  Then she started saying, "I want grandma, I want grandma."  I asked her which grandma she wanted and she thought for a moment and immediately replied, "I want all my grandma's."
On the way home sunday night from Phil and Jill's.  Tess wore her sunglasses even though it was already dark outside and she fell asleep that way.

Tess at Thanksgiving Point.  Luke and Tess walked around and took pictures while I ran 3 laps around the gardens.  (1 lap around the gardens is 1 mile.)

Ice cream at the Thanksgiving Point Deli and Ice Cream Shop.  Delicious!

Luke's Instagram

These are pictures of Luke shooting at Thanksgiving Point, obviously it was quite rainy that day.

Luke took this picture during the solar eclipse yesterday.  The moon crossing in front of the sun actually just looks like a moon.

This is the water tower at Thanksgiving Point.  We go there a lot and we love that place!

Whitey

Ava used her birthday money to buy this huge stuffed teddy bear from Costco. Only $30!  Luke took this picture while the girls were sleeping.  They really wanted to sleep with Whitey.  His full name is Whitey Snowball Hansen.

Dance Pictures

The girls take dance at The Dancin Place up in Salt Lake.  Luke got to do dance pictures this year for the whole studio and it turned out really well.  The girls had their recital on Thursday and it was great!  I'll try to post some video of it later this week.

Hansen Family Rules

I saw something similar to this in Deseret Book so I kind of copied it and put my own spin on it.  Our Hansen Family Rules.  I printed it out in 11x14 size and had it mounted on foam board and hung it on my wall.  Now when the girls are fighting or have a problem, we look to the rules and see which one applies to the situation.  I think it pretty much covers all problems and scenarios.
